Rapid Fire

How did you propose to Katelyn?
I proposed at our absolute favourite spot, the Melbourne Botanical Gardens, at the edge of the lake looking out over the centre of the gardens.

What's the strangest job you can imagine yourself doing?
It’s not really strange but rather just uncommon - I can imagine myself being one of those chocolate artists who make sculptures out of chocolate (although, I fear I’d never be able to keep such a job for long… I’d eat the sculptures as I was creating them).

Why did you start Confident Faith?
Throughout my late teenage years and early twenties, I encountered a lot of questions and objections to belief in God which really challenged my faith. I started Confident Faith to help those who are going through that same season of questioning and facing those same challenges to their faith.

Favourite dog breed:
Shiba Inu

What is something you can’t cook?
Seafood

Share something about yourself that might surprise people.
I must admit I have a slight obsession with Meerkats.

Sweet or Savoury?
Most definitely sweet. My favourites are brownies and Old Gold dark chocolate.

What sports (team or individual) did you play growing up?
I played a lot of sports growing up - cricket, soccer, baseball, rugby union. But tennis was my best and favourite sport.

What was it like joining the Breakthrough board?
It was an absolute honour. I feel extremely blessed to serve on the board of this wonderful church, and be a support to Ps. Peter.

What's the most valuable piece of advice you've ever received?
Definitely Matthew 6:33, “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added to you.”

The Deep End

Name a moment where you experienced God's favour in an extraordinary way.

The Lord is so good. He has provided for me and my wife time and time again and in so many different ways. As just one example, at the start of COVID, when my work was uncertain and finances were tight, the Lord provided supernaturally so that not only did we survive, but we thrived.

What book of the Bible has influenced your life the most and why?

Romans. It’s helped me the most in terms of understanding God’s nature, human nature, the good news of Jesus, and the plans and purposes of God.
