I’d love to share some more thoughts on BARBIE'S example for “standing in expectation”.

When you get a text to say that your Amazon delivery is on its way (yep, we get a lot of these…) you begin to PREPARE for its arrival. You ensure someone is home to receive it. You tell the family to expect it. You clear a space for it to live. You stop shopping online because you know it’s almost here.

That’s a real life example of how true EXPECTATION changes you.

And in the Barbie film, they used the visual of her ‘flat feet’ to showcase the transition from Barbie to human. And isn’t that the same for us?

What's the first thing to change when we lose faith? We stop standing in expectation.

What’s the first thing I do when I stop having faith in my Amazon courier?

  • I don’t worry about having anyone home to receive a parcel; because I’m not actually expecting it to arrive.
  • I stop talking about it.
  • I allow clutter to fill the space where my item was destined to live.
  • I begin shopping on eBay for ‘plan B’.

In other words; I stop living life EXPECTING my delivery.

I’d love you to stop and ask yourself; “Would today look different if I were EXPECTING my miracle?”

  • Would I give more time to God’s Word if I EXPECTED to have an encounter with Him which broke the addiction?
  • Would I witness to my neighbour if I EXPECTED all the seeds we’ve planted to produce the harvest of her finding Jesus?
  • Would I continue to gossip about my boss if I EXPECTED my dream job to manifest?
  • Would I (fill in the blank!)

Take a quick snapshot of your feet today and check that they’re standing on tip-toes!
